Scar Release
Abdominal & C-Section Scar Release
This is a holistic Osteopathic treatment that combines both hands on manual therapy, the use of tools including gua sha, cupping and needling as well as exercise rehabilitation of your breath and core function to soften, mobilise and improve the function of your scar tissue. This treatment aims at mobilising not only the scar and its function but also of the muscles and surrounding areas including the ribs, diaphragm, hips and back.

- Laparoscopic or abdominal surgeries, including:
- Hysterectomy
- Endometriosis excisions
- Appendectomy
- Fertility-related surgeries
- Birth trauma or abdominal trauma
- Diastasis recti or abdominal tension
- Ongoing pelvic, back, or hip pain postpartum
It is especially valuable for:
- Postpartum women wanting to reconnect with their core
- Women experiencing sensitivity, numbness, or pain near their scar
- Those struggling with body image or emotional disconnection after birth
Post Breast Cancer Scar Release
1 in 7 women in Australia will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. The treatment commonly results in significant scarring, adhesions, fibrous tissue, hard and lumpy breasts, rippled or contracted breast implants and even chronic pain.
Dr Dani Tjahjana has completed a post breast cancer care course by the well respected Dr.Amanda Hannaford who provides Osteopathic breast care at the Mater Hospital in NSW.
Just like abdominal or c-section scarring, breast cancer scars can also create:
- Tightness or pulling through scar tissue
- Shoulder or chest stiffness
- Swelling or lymphatic congestion
- Tingling, numbness, or sensitivity
- Postural changes and fatigue
Benefits of Post-Breast Cancer Osteopathic Care
Our gentle, hands-on sessions work with your body to:
- Improve range of motion in the chest, shoulders, and arms
- Release scar tissue and fascial tension
- Support lymphatic flow and reduce swelling
- Ease pain and stiffness in surrounding muscles and joints
- Encourage natural breathing patterns and posture
- Reconnect you with your body’s strength, balance, and beauty
Why is it important to work on your scar and the surrounding areas?
Scar tissue forms naturally as part of the healing process after surgery or injury, but it can:
- Bind or restrict movement of surrounding tissues
- Create fascial tension or adhesions
- Affect posture and biomechanics
- Contribute to pain, digestive issues, or pelvic floor dysfunction
C-section scars, in particular, may heal externally, but the internal layers (fascia, uterus, bladder, muscles) can remain restricted and tethered for years without therapy.
This treatment is for you if you experience any of the following:
- Aching, pain or sensitivity at or around the scar
- Stretching or pulling sensation around the scar with movement
- The scar feels lumpy, thick or bumpy to the touch
- An overhang “ shelf” that wont go away
- Discomfort at the scar during sex or pain during certain times of your menstrual cycle
- Feeling like your abs aren’t working
- Numbness or tingling around the scar area
- Limited range of motion or stiffness in the lower abdomen or pelvis
