What is Osteopathy and how can it help me?
Osteopathy is a form of manual therapy that focuses on the neuro-musculoskeletal system — including your bones, muscles, joints and nerves. It aims to restore movement, reduce discomfort and improve overall function. At Hózhó Wellness, we use a holistic approach that considers lifestyle, stress, sleep, and other contributing factors to tailor a treatment plan that works for you.
Do I need a referral to see an Osteopath?
No referral is required to book an appointment with an Osteopath. You can book directly online or get in touch with us if you’re unsure which service is right for you.
What should I expect during my first consultation?
Your initial consultation will include a detailed discussion of your medical history, current concerns and goals, followed by a physical assessment. If appropriate, we may begin treatment during the first session using techniques such as soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation, dry needling or cupping, depending on your needs.
What conditions do you treat?
We treat a broad range of conditions including back and neck pain, joint issues, headaches, pelvic pain, pre- and postnatal concerns, scar tissue discomfort, incontinence and postural problems. If you’re unsure whether we can help, feel free to contact us for a quick chat.
Do you offer internal pelvic assessments and treatment?
Yes. Dr Dani is trained through the Osteopathic Pelvic Health Institute to provide internal pelvic health assessments and treatments where appropriate. These sessions are always carried out with full consent and a focus on comfort, safety and clear communication.
Can I come to Pilates sessions without receiving Osteopathy treatment?
Yes. Clinical and Reformer Pilates sessions are available as standalone services. We offer private and duo sessions that can be tailored to your goals — whether that’s injury recovery, core strength, pregnancy or postpartum support, or general fitness.
I’m pregnant — can I still receive treatment?
Absolutely. We provide safe, supportive care throughout pregnancy and into the postpartum period. Treatment can include hands-on therapy, advice on active labour positions, perineal massage education, and strategies to assist with recovery after birth.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows for easy movement. For Pilates sessions, we recommend activewear and grip socks. If any specific clothing is required for a certain treatment, we’ll let you know ahead of time.
Do you accept private health insurance?
Yes, we have HICAPS available for on-the-spot claims with most major private health funds. Please check with your insurer to confirm your level of Osteopathy or Pilates cover.
Where is the clinic located and is there parking available?
Hózhó Wellness is located in Chelsea Heights, Victoria. We provide services to clients from Bayside, the Mornington Peninsula, and beyond. There is free, easy parking available directly in front of the clinic.
